I Could Use...
I could really use a cup of tea, a warm blanket, and a good night's rest. It's been a crazy and busy couple of days. And I'm pretty sure, they're catching up with me. I'm very glad that this coming weekend is a holiday weekend. Both my husband and I can use the break.
Many people think that we have it easy. Because we own our business. But it's stressful. And very difficult. Something that takes so much time and energy. I'm not complaining. More of just getting it off my chest.
All I know, is that I'm exhausted. I haven't wanted to craft in days. And right now, I could easily go to bed. Fall dead asleep. Maybe I will do that. And just get up early in the morning. I'd probably do a better job with a little rest. But a cup of tea, it would be heaven!

Where Did My Lilies Go?
Sometime in the Spring, I planted about 5 Oriental Lily bulbs. And I've watered them all season. Along with some other bulbs. And even seeds for that matter. Yes, I made sure that they were all going in the right direction.
And by now, I should have some pretty blooms like these. Or at least a green plant. Heck, I'd settle for a sprout coming out of the ground. But I got nothing. Nothing at all! My other bulbs, they've all grown. Some of them have flowered. But not the Oriental Lilies.
It makes me wonder, what happened to my lilies? If all the others came up, were these bad bulbs? Was this a tough year? Because I lots of plants and flowers that didn't make it. Just from talking to family and friends.
This was the first year that I planted Oriental Lilies. But like I said, I've planted other lilies in the past. I have an entire flower bed filled with Tiger Lilies. But these lilies, they just don't want to grow. I'm wondering if our climate is just not good. Or maybe, it was just a tough gardening year.

Money Tree
This is a Money Tree. Not one that grows money. But it's called a Money Tree. About 15 years ago, one of our employees gave it to us for the holidays. A small one. Smaller than this one. And right now, it's taking over my office.
I had to re-pot it again. And I noticed how big it has gotten. Why am I so shocked? This tree has been in my office for a long time. But when you have to pick it up and move it, you can tell how big it has gotten.
Our Money Tree is now hitting the ceiling. And I'm wondering what we're going to do with it, as it continues to grow. Because I don't know where we will put it. The funny thing is, we just let it do it's own thing. I water it, maybe once a week. And it's right by the window. Who would have thought it would be this big? Or that it would have outlasted the employee that gave it to us!

Green Ribbon Booties
This is such a sweet pair of booties. And today's free pattern from Free Crochet. They're so delicate and frilly. Definitely a girly pair of booties. I think they would look darling in pink or purple. They would make such a sweet Baby Shower present.

Inspiration
This picture has inspired me. To get my Sewing Room in order. Well, as in order as I can get it, right now. Because when we remodeled our house, a couple of years ago, my Sewing Room got a little...well I have a door that needs to be closed off. And windows that need to be finished off, from the inside.
Yes, my Sewing Room is the only room that hasn't been remodeled. The light fell from the ceiling. I had to manage to get it back up. I'm almost positive, that it's not safe in it's current state. It's pretty bad. My husband and I were talking. It's the next and final room, for us to work on. I want to take out the old wood paneling. And I want to paint the walls a soft and cheerful color.
I want to get organized. I want to be very organized. Put things on my shelves. Have my supplies easily available. That's what I want. Because right now, it's not a functioning space. And that saddens me.
How bad is it? My sewing machine and my serger are in another room. I do most of my sewing in our kitchen or living room. And it stresses me out. Because I feel like it makes a big mess. So I want to get my Sewing Room in order.
Now I just need to make some time. And I really need to attack this space. Because I'm tired of losing my supplies. And having to repurchase things. I'm ready to have a room all to myself again. I miss the days, when I would lock myself in my Sewing Room, and would sew for hours and hours!

Dreaming of...
I've been dreaming of Cherry Limeades. The sugary drink from your neighborhood Sonic. I know that it's bad. But I haven't had one in months. Literally months. It could easily be a year.
Why? I don't know. I just haven't been to Sonic is so long. And there is no excuse. Because there is one down the road. 2 minutes from our house. We pass it 3-4 times a day!
I'm on a mission, to have a Cherry Limeade this week. Or at least by the end of summer. I really miss them! Yum. Is it bad that I want one this early in the morning?

Tropical Sunshine Flatcakes with Orange Cream
I found this picture this morning. I was searching for a quick cake recipe. But this picture, it caught my eye. And it lead me to this recipe. This just sounds very delicious. With the late summer fruit, I think this could be a very magical breakfast. I'm definitely going to save this recipe. And hopefully when my daughter comes to visit, she will make this for us. She's a better cook with recipes like this. :)

Nail Polish
I've never really been a makeup person. Or someone who spent a lot of time on my hair. But my nails, that's a whole other story.
I grow out my nails. Most people think they are the fake ones. But they're not. They're mine. I probably polish my nails 3 times a week. I use all sorts of nail polish. Nothing too expensive. Mostly the kind you can buy at Wal-Mart or Target. 2 of my favorite brands are Avon and Sally Hanson.
They're just great quality. Lost a long time. And come out with some nice colors. Yes, I'm that woman that orders 4 bottles of nail polish and 2 pairs of shoes from Avon. And no makeup. But I just love all the fun colors of nail polish.
I recently found this page with these beautiful nail polishes. And I've fallen in love! I feel like I need to go to Wal-Mart right away. And buy a few of these. I like all the colors! Maybe just maybe, I can collect them all before they discontinue this set of colors.

Church Fiestas
This weekend our church had their annual Church Fiestas. It was a lot of fun. Even with the very "moody" weather. During the day, it was so hot. In the upper 90s! And in the evening, it would get cool, windy, and rain. Yes, it would rain. Not the best weather for an outdoor fiesta. But it happens every year. And we learn how to sit out the weather.
On Saturday, my husband and I were in the parade. We have an old car. And we really enjoy being in the parade. My brother and sister in law were also in the parade. We had invited a few friends to join us. Unfortunately, they didn't come. But we had lots of family there. And lots of friends too. We always catch up with old friends and family.
The food was good too. And there was some good entertainment. Not as much as normal. But still very good. Same with the food. It wasn't as good as in years past, but it was good. And we ate a lot. I'm probably good for a few days. Do you get that way? You eat so much, in a short amount of time, that you lose your appetite for a few days. That's how I feel.
But we had a great time. We spent most of the weekend at the Fiestas. We ate most of the weekend. And I even managed some shopping. There was a Silent Auction. With lots of nice things. I ended up bidding on, and winning, 5 copper bracelets, a pair of earrings, and a rosary. All for under $50. A good deal, considering I've paid up to $60 for a single copper bracelet, in the past.
We had a lot of fun. But I'm exhausted now. I need a day or 2 to recover. But this is a weekend that we look forward to every year. Just seeing old friends and being a part of the community is so fulfilling. Something that my husband and I definitely enjoy.

Coca-Cola Fabric
I've been looking for some Coca-Cola fabric. For a long while. But I haven't been able to find any. I remember seeing it at JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby at one time. But now that I need it, I can't find it.
Do you know of any place I can buy some? I'm looking for about 1/4 yard. Not too much. I'm making an apron for a friend. One of those ruffled ones. I have the other fabric. But I need the Coca-Cola fabric. That's the theme of her kitchen. If you've seen it anywhere, or know where I can find it, please let me know. I would be so grateful!

Happy Birthday
Today is a special day. I young man, that I've known his entire life, is turning 30 today. We're all very proud of Dr. LS. Who happens to be a neurosurgeon. And very successful. A young man that I watched grow from that little t-ball player, into the man that stole my daughter's heart. It's amazing how quickly kids grow up. Before you know it, they're grown ups. Working hard. Making a life for themselves.
Dr. LS we're all proud of you! Happy Birthday. Enjoy the day. And enjoy what God has given you. You're blessed because you bless so many other lives.

Cloud Soft Cover-Up
I happened to find this pattern at Crochet Soiree. I also happened to notice that my daughter blogged about it too!
I think this is a beautiful blanket to make for any baby. I think this is another blanket that you can make in a large variety of colors. If done in white, it would be perfect for a baby shower. Especially if you don't know the sex of the baby. I'm really liking this design. So much so, I'm printing it off right now. And going through my crochet stash. You know, so I can start it right away.
