Frosted Flakes

Today is Wednesday. The tough day of the week for me. It's "early day" for our company. But it's the day that I seem to have more work to do. And no time to do it in. I'm on the go all day long. Most Wednesdays, I'm lucky to get 5 minutes to sit down.

That's were Frosted Flakes come in. They're my favorite cereal. I know, I must sound like a child. But between stacks of paperwork and going to drive, I eat a bowl. On Wednesdays. It's my snack/lunch. The only thing that get me through the day.

I'm telling you. Wednesdays might be "early day." But it's the day I work the hardest. It's the day we eat dinner the latest. And the day I usually fall asleep watching TV. At 8pm. Frosted Flakes, they definitely help me get through the day!

Dreaming of...

I've been dreaming of Cherry Limeades. The sugary drink from your neighborhood Sonic. I know that it's bad. But I haven't had one in months. Literally months. It could easily be a year.

Why? I don't know. I just haven't been to Sonic is so long. And there is no excuse. Because there is one down the road. 2 minutes from our house. We pass it 3-4 times a day!

I'm on a mission, to have a Cherry Limeade this week. Or at least by the end of summer. I really miss them! Yum. Is it bad that I want one this early in the morning?

Tropical Sunshine Flatcakes with Orange Cream

I found this picture this morning. I was searching for a quick cake recipe. But this picture, it caught my eye. And it lead me to this recipe. This just sounds very delicious. With the late summer fruit, I think this could be a very magical breakfast. I'm definitely going to save this recipe. And hopefully when my daughter comes to visit, she will make this for us. She's a better cook with recipes like this. :)

Church Fiestas

This weekend our church had their annual Church Fiestas. It was a lot of fun. Even with the very "moody" weather. During the day, it was so hot. In the upper 90s! And in the evening, it would get cool, windy, and rain. Yes, it would rain. Not the best weather for an outdoor fiesta. But it happens every year. And we learn how to sit out the weather.

On Saturday, my husband and I were in the parade. We have an old car. And we really enjoy being in the parade. My brother and sister in law were also in the parade. We had invited a few friends to join us. Unfortunately, they didn't come. But we had lots of family there. And lots of friends too. We always catch up with old friends and family.

The food was good too. And there was some good entertainment. Not as much as normal. But still very good. Same with the food. It wasn't as good as in years past, but it was good. And we ate a lot. I'm probably good for a few days. Do you get that way? You eat so much, in a short amount of time, that you lose your appetite for a few days. That's how I feel.

But we had a great time. We spent most of the weekend at the Fiestas. We ate most of the weekend. And I even managed some shopping. There was a Silent Auction. With lots of nice things. I ended up bidding on, and winning, 5 copper bracelets, a pair of earrings, and a rosary. All for under $50. A good deal, considering I've paid up to $60 for a single copper bracelet, in the past.

We had a lot of fun. But I'm exhausted now. I need a day or 2 to recover. But this is a weekend that we look forward to every year. Just seeing old friends and being a part of the community is so fulfilling. Something that my husband and I definitely enjoy.

Hungry

Over our fun weekend, my husband and I made a quick stop at a Wal-Mart. Just to pick up a few things. And I seen one of those cooking magazines with all the recipes in it. Those little mini ones. I had seen it a few times. And I kept wanting to buy it. Because I knew my daughter could make us the dessert on the front cover. It looks amazing. And in case I haven't said it before, she's a great cook and baker!

On Saturday, I finally bought the magazine. And early this week, I was talking to my daughter. I was also going through the magazine. Telling her all about the recipes. Making us both hungry. Now, I'm sitting at my desk. Trying to work. And all I can think about are the tasty recipes.

I wish I could tell you the name of the magazine. But I'm at work. And it's at home. But I can still see those amazing pictures right now. And they're making me hungry! I wonder when my daughter is coming to visit again...

Panda Express

Panda Express happens to be one of my favorite places to eat. And both my husband and daughter love it too. It's just a win-win situation when we go.

Tonight, my husband and I decided to go for dinner. The food was extra tasty tonight. It was super fresh. And very good. I think we got there at just the right time. They were preparing for the dinner rush. And it was very good food.

They also gave us a ton of food. Not just a regular plate. Our plates were over flowing. We even got free egg rolls. That never happens! We ended up taking a little over a plate of food home. Yes, there was that much! I still can't believe it. But I will definitely have a good lunch snack to eat all week long.

What are some of your favorite places to eat? And when are the best times to go? I've noticed that some of our favorite restaurants happen to serve better food during the "off" hours. You know, between the "meal rush hours."
